Political Science Prof. Fred Lewis has been named president-elect of the New England Political Science Association (NEPSA), a group of political science professors from the region’s prominent universities and liberal arts colleges. The announcement was made at the group’s annual meeting.
Lewis had served as vice president and chair of NEPSA’s public law section, and chaired a panel called “Public Law: Constitutional Issues” at the NEPSA annual meeting.
He recently traveled to France to meet scholars from around the world and present a paper at the Table Ronde Internationale de Semiotique Juridique. Additionally, he participated in a short course on Democracy and its Critics at the national meeting of the American Political Science Association in Boston.
“I’m honored to have been selected from such a worthy group of my peers,” says Lewis.
His term runs through May 2009.
